Not something on everyone’s to-do list, but maintenance on your garage door is something you should all do once a year. Here’s a few tips, to make sure your door is trouble-free.
Use WD-40 on your rollers, hinges and latches to keep it moving along nicely.
If the rollers or hinges seem stuck, soak them in kerosene. A toothbrush is a great tool to use to work the kerosene in the cracks.
Add kerosene on the chain or drive screw on your garage door opener.
Check the weatherstripping on the side of the doors. If it’s jamming, then adjust, or replace if necessary.
If the garage door is made of wood, make sure it is sealed. You can also paint, and if a touch up is needed, consider weatherstripping.
