Painting a garage door may seem a simple task, but there’s so many things to consider. From weather, lifespan of the coating to the overall cosmetic look of the garage door in comparison to your house.
Firstly, make sure it’s not raining the day when you paint. Also make sure you’re not painting in direct sunlight. Best time in the summer time is usually early evening.
Before you start painting, make sure you clean the door thoroughly. You can use special items for garage doors, or use the cheaper option – a soapy sponge!
Make sure you have a plastic sheet or drop cloth in the areas where you’re painting to avoid a mess on the floor. Also use tape to cover off areas which you don’t want painted.
Before you paint with your chosen colour. use a primer. If you don’t use a primer, the old hue may show.
